Softscape Settles Suit with SuccessFactors
Today, Softscape and SuccessFactors announced the settlement of their lawsuits. In the statement, Softscape admitted guilt to the claims set by SuccessFactors that they created and distributed a presentation designed to look as it came from a SuccessFactors customer.
As I wrote back in back in April, Softscape looked pretty damn guilty based on much of the evidence. Smartly, Softscape decided to settle the suit and drop all counterclaims. Why is this important? Just like sports where you can tell a lot about a player by the way they play the game, I frankly think you can tell a lot about a company and its culture by how they compete in the marketplace. I don’t think this result should affect someone’s buying decision but it should force them to ensure they are completing the necessary due diligence before signing on the dotted line.
Softscape was very strong in their response to SuccessFactors claims back in March (press releases have since been amended). I credit them for realizing the best way to compete in the marketplace is through superior products and services. The more we focus on the great products and services we all deliver in this industry, the better we and our customers become.
